Center for Regional Climate Studies

A changing climate presents novel and unprecedented challenges for the Northern Great Plains region. To better adapt to climate-induced changes, we need to: (1) Understand regional climate changes and their impact on agriculture; (2) Study how the human-environmental system responds to climate change, and the potential socio-economic impacts in regions with an agricultural-based economy; (3) Address the predictability of agricultural adaptation in response to climate variation. CRCS brings together the expertise of researchers from Atmospheric Science (AS), Chemical Engineering (ChE), Earth System Science and Policy (ESSP), and Counseling Psychology and Community Services (CPCS) at UND and Agribusiness and Applied Economics (AAE), Civil Engineering (CE), and Computer Science (CS) at NDSU.
